Goldfinch

Am I right with the name of this bird? Two came to visit at the bird feeder.
For me they look like they are very young. One almost hit the
window, and I guess the bird sees me and started
                                                                           to fly back.

I always love to watch our Gold Finch sit on the flower heads and pick at the seeds. We have lots of them because it is the state bird of Iowa! Early this summer we had the babies visiting---so cute. Wonderful shot!

WOW!. That is an amazing shot. Yes it is a finch, but that is so close and personal, I think you had better introduce yourselves.

Wonderful Goldfinch shot! Here in Missouri, the natives also call them Wild Canaries. You're probably right about it being a youngster, as they are born later than many birds to coincide with the ripening of the seeds they feed on.

Thanks for stopping by to see my wildflowers of Sweden. A lovely images of this cute finch... Sometimes the sparrows come to my kitchen window as if to say, where is the food? They only seem to do it when my feeders are empty!
