VTT: Old pop dispenser/machine

Vintage Thingies Thursday once again hosted by Colorado Lady. My entry for this week is this old pop/soft drink dispenser/machine I saw at Lucky's restaurant. I myself  can't figure it out how old is this because in my country where I came from I haven't seen like this one. My guess is as good as yours.

Vintage Thingies Thursday: Barn

It's Vintage Thingies Thursday once again and my contribution for this week is this Old dilapidated Barn.  I don't know if this is appropriate to post or not but I found this barn along the road and I know for sure this is truly vintage. In the Philippines I haven't seen a barn it's only here in the US that I find many nice well kept barn and some are not. My DH family had still their barn for years and the kept it nice. And by keeping it nice  it takes a lot of money too. And this one  is different I guess the passed owner of the property are all gone now and the one who owned the property didn't care of the barn itself. But what fascinate me when I see barns is,  how many people that come and go in that barn, how many cows they've milk every day, how many bales of hay they put inside, how many kids loves to play inside playing hide and seek and Grandpa or Grandma will only holler not to jump around the hay, and the list goes on and on. I don't  have barn stories but hubby and his family shared a lot of funny stories about farming and barns. That's why when I see one it makes me wonder if all barns has good stories to tell.

Vintage Thingies Thursday: Old Door

It's another week for Vintage Thingies Thursday and  my week's entry is this Old Door. This door is the front door of an old restaurant which has been renovated for many times but  they took care some of the doors and woods that makes the building very natural looking and rustic. When we came in I immediately noticed the number etched on top of the door says 1856. Because I was curious I asked the concierge if the number etched is correct and she said yes. I am amazed and my mind thought of the people in that era and the era after 1800 who touched and passed that door. Hmmmm if only that door could tell the story ^_^.

Vintage Thingies Thursday: Old Yoke

It's the last week of VTT for 2009,  I can't help but had to post my last entry for this year  though I am kind of busy but VTT has to be first before all the errands ^_^ This YOKE is hanging on the wall where hubby and I used to eat brunch every Tuesday. Way back in the Philippines where I come from many farmers still used a yoke specially those farmer who are farming in the rice field. Because the rice field is watery, wet and muddy I guess no machine could till that land it will get stuck. But I don't know here in the USA if some people still use a yoke since I noticed every farmers has their own tractors. I don't know how old this yoke is but I guess this is pretty vintage.

Vintage Thingies Friday: Pot and ice bucket

It's VTT once again and my entry for this week is about this old pot or is this really a pot? Is this what we call an iron pot? For me growing up cooking rice all the time I think I like to cook with this one. With a firewood and this kind of pot I am very sure that the smell of the rice is awesome ^_^

And this another one is an old ice bucket....it's a long way too different to our new ice bucket or cooler now a days.  How this thing will keep the drinks cold with this one? Wish I did open this ice bucket so I knew if it has an insulation somewhere ^_^

Vintage Thingies Thursday: Apple presser and an iron

Last week (Thanksgiving day) I was not able to participate the VTT because I was very busy but I kept on remembering to post VTT this week. So here I am very excited to post can't help it I just love this meme. So what I got this week is...

An apple presser!! I found this one in Porters Orchard and Cider Mill. They displayed this one inside their store so everybody could see how they do an apple juice before all the technology that we now enjoy.

And an Iron! Now I don't know how to work with  this  I looked at it and inspected it,  it seems that there is no opening. I used to iron our clothes back in the Philippines but ours is not as flat like this one. I don't know what year this apple presser and iron could be but I guess they are all vintage. So that is my feature for this VTT week. Enjoy!
