Letter - A

Yesterday, brother, nephew and me went to the mountain for an ADVENTURE. We started to descend from the top of the mountain and when we reach at the bottom of the mountain we saw a lone woman. We were not ALONE then somebody or someone in the middle of no where is also in the premises. We do not have any way to go but to just passed her as she passed as too. But we did not just keep quiet my brother talk to her as she is slowly closing us. Then I saw her bolo or machete!! A lone woman in the middle of the woods with a machete. What you will do if she is going to AMOK? Run? Fight? What you think?

Special  thanks to Manang (a term of endearment to Filipino woman who are elder or senior citizen) who is willing to be taken a shot. She was smiling and joking us when I took this photo. She also warned us not to stay long at the river there might be a flash flood.

Hello.
I'm a talker..always have been...always will be. I would have stopped to talk to her and made some joke about the load she's carrying, but I would have still kept one eye on that machete in her hand!! (LOL) Great photos Kim. Thanks for sharing & visiting.

Hahahaha same here Andy, I like to start a conversation. And yes I will keep a distance and my one eye on the machete too. Actually, I was behind my brother that's why I had a chance to talk and take shots. ^_^ But she is nice and candid enough to let us take a shots of her. ^_^

I admire her balancing act and apparently barefooted too! My grandmother had a weapon as well but only for self-defense.

What a great A posting. Isn't it fune and interesting to run into a stranger and for a few brief moments you exchange pleasantries, then each go on your way. This was just such an event.

We saw women carrying all kinds of things on their heads when we visited Bali a couple of years ago. At the time I was nursing an old neck injury and just couldn't believe how strong their necks were! Cool photos. Big knife :-)
