I have been enjoying taking photos of my Chinese Lantern since it had a flower until now. As of this time, the flower gets dry and creates a hole. An when you touch it, it feels like dried paper. See how it looks.

My mum used to grow these in our garden when I was little. She used to take them in and dry them too.
They really are very strange, aren't they? And you took some great shots of the strangeness!

Wonderful macros. We used to have Chinese lanterns before. I took them in in the fall and let them dry for ornamental use.
