Birding

Okey since the beginning of summer I've been waiting and waiting for the time that this tiny creature Mr. Hummingbird and me is going to collide. Sometimes I catches him lurking but it is too fast to fly away. Yesterday I spotted him and I remember I have not change the hummingbird nectar for a week. So fast I prepare for the mixture and patiently waited for him. Fate lead us (lol) our time collided and I had the last laugh! I took photos of him wanting to taste the sweetest hummingbird feed I had ever prepare (lol). Though I tried not to move while taking photos but Mr. Hummingbird is too keen on watching me too. I think we have a hate and love relationship hehehehe!

These little birds are fascinating! I once had a 4th grade student do a research study on hummingbirds and even I learned a lot from his study.

I was watching the hummer outside my diningroom window today too. They are so fast that I can never capture a picture.
Good job with your capture.

Nice that you still have them! We had some around for a week or so and they seem to have disappeared. Hopefully, yours will stick around for more photos!

did you ever see a movie called The Big Year? It's about birding. Stars Steve Martin, Owen Wilson and Jack Black.

Oh you did get some great shots... I was sitting just a few feet away the other day from our feeder and a hummingbird stay forever.....and my camera was in the house. When I came back with the camera...he didn't visit..Bummer. You were in the right place at the right time.

Hi there -I'd love to see one of these - find it hard to believe that they are a garden bird!

PS: sorry about the lack of thumbnails this week – will get it right for WBW #3

It's so hard to catch these little birds in flight. I haven't seen many around this summer, although we always have fresh nectar out.

Your thumbnail immediately caught me eye. I love hummers. Unfortunately I don't have very many this year. :-( You have great captures.

Always thrilling to capture the birds in flight.

In my earlier days, I used to follow the advice to spray honey on the tree branches to wait for the birds to come. That way, it would sometimes give more surprise what the birds might do
