Imperfections

I found out that most of what we photographed is the flawless, beautiful flowers that we could find in our garden or anybody’s garden. However, what about those flowers who has its own imperfection? I noticed just recently that I took many photos of flowers that has imperfections. Subconsciously, I am attracted to these kinds of flowers and looking at the photos that I took this morning I can relate this to people. Many do not want to take photos that are not stunning, beautiful, or flawless. We are attracted to what our eyes see as beautiful because that is what the society says about beauty. Those who are well proportion body, shiny hair, beautiful lips etc. However, we all have imperfections we may like it or not and that is the reality, as the saying goes “Nobody is Perfect” and so as the flowers.

Lovely yellow centers in these fabulously pink flowers. I'm glad they bloomed even after being planted late. Everything has its own beauty, and flowers, whether perfect or not, are always beautiful.

I think perfection is in the eye of the beholder, and I never look for anymore at my age. I just feel lucky to be alive and in relatively good health. I bet if you could ask these sweet little flowers, they would say the same thing. They are lovely...their color so pretty. I know you are just happy they bloomed for your. Such nice captures.Hope you have a nice week filled with lots and lots of prettiness. genie

Absolutely love your commentary! I can only imagine how many times I have hit the delete key or fixed a flaw through Photoshop on a less-than-perfect flower shot and felt bad about it (especially those 'deletes'). You have given us something to seriously think about - thank you!

everything has its beauty, some are seen, some aren't. we should be like the flowers--always a delight in any circumstance.

It is the same with butterflies...many do not like the pictures of the damaged wings, so they discard such photos. I think there's beauty in imperfection too.

I believe all things are perfect in ther imperfections. I always look for the different, the flawed, the weird, the abstract. The universe is not perfectly round. So who are we to judge. Cheers Kim!!

Your words as well as your pictures are beautifully powerful and thought-provoking! I too am beginning to seek out the "imperfect" flower. I find at times it has more character. Well done!
