Friday My Town Shoot Out

This week theme is all about Temples, Churches, Synagogues or House of Prayer
This Methodist church is close to our house. Across the church is a cemetery and according to the history the land where the church is located and the cemetery are donated by my husband's great great grandmother on his maternal side.

One of my drive by shooting.

                                                       Taken at Huckleberry Village, MI

It is wonderful how families are identified with a church community. I have been gone from the church of my childhood for many years and still want to go back there for my funeral and burial. That is really home to me. Great post.

huckleberry village is very much like mine today from our manatee village. I love old churches, the older the better

the church in your last photo is almost identical to a small chapel - out in the countryside / one of the areas hard hit in January / the chapel sits on land owned by a Frenchman (rare in Brasil) I wonder if your church was also built by a Frenchman.

These really show a hometown sense. And the fact that they relate to your heritage -- fabulous.

Simple and beautiful.

A fine series of church shots. It's a nice part of your heritage to know that a distant relative gave this church the land. Fine post.
