Men photographer

Last night I was watching National Geographic channel and they featured the top 10 photos of the year. I didn't get it if it's 2010 or 2009 but nonetheless the pictures are just so pretty. But here is what I noticed why is that among the top ten only one woman is in the top ten? There is one woman who is one of the top ten but she has a partner, a man. I can't figure it out really. I also noticed that with the magazines and books the photographer are men!! To add it chef's are also men!! I haven't had an answer to this yet. I thought that women had an eye for beauty than men but I think this is not the reason why. I think men are more adventurous? Women are too, but we are adventurous in shopping hitting sales hahahaha. Jokingly aside, I have not discovered a good answer to my question yet. So if you have one please share it here. ^_^

I guess it's the trend, where most of the women are focus on families while men are there to bring the bacon.

It's a great photo. Mmm, don't know about why men are more successful... My guess is most organisations are run by men, so women have to fight to be considered seriously but that's slowly changing... Also many women are still happy to stand behind a man.

Will have to google about this and see what the experts say.

That's a very good question Kim. Evelyn has part of the answer I believe, but also I think men tend to be more technology-focused and the images they recognise as good tend to be high-end technology ones.

They are more career-driven and will eagerly do all it takes to stand out, be noticed and finally make it to the top.

Besides, how were those top ten chosen? I'm pretty sure that judges in most contests are men.

Perhaps a women's choice would have been different? It's time to work on that though, this MUST change in the future.

It's a mystery, isn't it? It's the same in much of the art world. Many of the successful artists are men. Why? I don't have answers. Thanks for linking this to my post.
