Vintage Thingies Friday: Pot and ice bucket

It's VTT once again and my entry for this week is about this old pot or is this really a pot? Is this what we call an iron pot? For me growing up cooking rice all the time I think I like to cook with this one. With a firewood and this kind of pot I am very sure that the smell of the rice is awesome ^_^

And this another one is an old ice bucket....it's a long way too different to our new ice bucket or cooler now a days.  How this thing will keep the drinks cold with this one? Wish I did open this ice bucket so I knew if it has an insulation somewhere ^_^

I don't know what kind of pot that is , but it looks like it was made to heat water, maybe in a fire.

Your ice bucket has lots of character. It looks like its hand hammered copper. Unique!

Wow they do look really really old. It always amazes me how lacking in character new things are

happy vtt!

The copper pot has great character from years of wear. Nice.

The pot with the spout in the first photo looks like one my parents had. They put water in it and sat it on their wood-burning stove to add humidity to the air.

I love the old copper ice bucket. Hopefully you can find a use for it.

When your title said "pot" I thought of my thunder bucket, which is of course a pot of an entirely DIFFERENT nature!

I am not familiar with your second pot. I have one like the black pot. Nice vintage showing.

the ice bucket must be really old, my grand dad's time, they boiled water over the wood fire.

The pot looks like an old kettle, like you would boil water in. We used to have something like it always sitting on the pot belly stove. Nice stand it's sitting on.

Interesting old pots. The iron one looks like it would be great for cooking. Would be interesting to know if/how the ice bucket is insulated.
